In the previous article, we took a look at the trends for the coming season. The question is: do we all need to follow the trends and rush out shopping for miniskirts and gloves?
The most iconic fashion designers showed trending colors, combinations and fabrics that are most fashionable at the moment. But I am always of the opinion that not everything broadcasted on the world podiums suits everyone, which means it’s up to the individual to express himself through her “personal style”.
Personal style is always about developing a sense of self.
STYLE is not about being hostage to patterns and trends. It is what makes us all different. It’s all about elegance and combination of things.
Style is not fashion-based, although it may draw ideas from it. And, influenced by each individual’s taste, sense, it reshapes established fashion, making looks even more unique.
Each fashion product reflects our inner feelings, our perceptions. We buy things based on how comfortable we feel wearing a particular look.
Style is something special. It is about individuality and good taste.
So what is fashion? And why do we say “fashion trends” and not “style trends”?
FASHION is something that has been popular for a while and it specialises in fabrics, jewellery, especially recently introduced ones. Designers try to generalise the use of things, colours, textures, etc., by adjusting things to general trend patterns.
Have you ever noticed that as soon as a seasonal outfit comes out, the previous one ‘disappears’, because it’s no longer ‘fashionable’?
Fashion is influenced by public opinion and its mindset, not by each individual’s opinion. This is a perpetual change in priorities, experimentation in shapes and colours, which a person should use as a starting point to form their own unique style.
Catching the fine line between fashion and style can be tricky. But you don’t have to!
Put the looks together so that they resonate with your inner world first and you feel your best in them!
